Our MI program offers extensive coursework and clinical externships in advanced modalities. You will have the opportunity to receive real, hands-on experience, along with the caring attention and extensive knowledge of first-rate instructors, all of whom are highly experienced in advanced modalities.
Clarkson College understands that all students do not share the same learning style. Our concept of involved learning is designed to prepare each individual for success in his or her individual pursuits. Our online learning platform includes lectures, audio files and PowerPoint slides with audio or video clips of the instructor’s content. You can ask questions through online threaded discussions, e-mail or even over the phone.

Can I work full-time and complete this program?
Yes. Most of our students work full-time and complete the program. Students choose from hybrid (a mixture of on-campus and online) or online courses.
What if I have transfer credits? Can my program go faster?
Yes. You may transfer credits to Clarkson College as long as it’s from an accredited institution and you have received a “C-” or higher in the class.
What courses do you offer in advanced modalities?
Clarkson College offers courses in computed tomography (CT), mammography, angiography, bone densitometry, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), imaging informatics, quality control and department management.
Can I do externships at my place of employment?
Yes. Many students complete their externships while they work.
Am I eligible to sit for post-primary certification exams when I’m done with the Medical Imaging program?
Depending on the coursework that you choose, you may have the opportunity to meet the minimum ARRT clinical competency requirements for board certification eligibility.
Are online courses set up like an independent study?
No. Every class will progress throughout the semester with the help of the online classroom at Clarkson College. Online courses offer you the flexibility to complete coursework throughout the week at your convenience.
Are the instructors who teach online courses available to students?
Yes. Communication is encouraged between the faculty and student through e-mail, phone and course discussions.
How long are the externships for the Medical Imaging program?
All of the medical imaging externships require a minimum of 180 clinical hours. You are able to complete the 180 hours during work time with supervisor approval.
