Applying for Federal PLUS Loans

Parents who choose to apply for a Federal PLUS Loan from Clarkson College will need to complete the following steps:

Step 1: The student must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The information you and your student are required to provide on the FAFSA helps determine your eligibility for a PLUS.
Step 2: Determine the dollar amount you want to borrow. A parent can borrow up to the difference between the Clarkson College cost of attendance budget and the student's estimated financial aid. Use the budget worksheet to help determine the amount you want to borrow.
Step 3: Complete the Federal PLUS Request form and return it to the Student Financial Services department.
Step 4: Complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN).
Click on "Sign in" to begin the process. You will sign in using your FAFSA PIN.
