The Interprofessional Learning Center

The Interprofessional Learning Center

The Interprofessional Learning Center is an interactive space that allows you to practice hands-on learning in realistic scenarios to prepare you for your future role as a health care professional. You'll practice bedside care, procedures and treatments and utilize the space's video technology to perfect your skills. The experiences you gain in the Interprofessional Learning Center will prepare you for your clinical and professional roles.

Skills Practice Area
Students across all academic programs utilize the six patient beds in the skills practice area to perfect basic care techniques required in a clinical setting. You'll use mannequins to practice procedures such as starting an IV, positioning for x-rays, providing support for injuries, and administering treatments and medications.

Realistic Exam Rooms
Four exam rooms in the Interprofessional Learning Center are set up to reflect a realistic clinical setting where you can practice patient exam and assessment skills. The education-based environment prepares you for a variety of scenarios in a clinical setting.

Maternal Simulation Lab
The Interprofessional Learning Center features mother and infant high-fidelity mannequins to simulate real-world patient scenarios in obstetric health. The maternal simulation lab is equipped with video technology and a debriefing room so you can review and perfect your skills.

Operating Room Simulation
You can immerse yourself in a surgical setting using the operating simulation room, complete with surgical lighting and hand-washing station. The operating room is also equipped with video technology and is large enough to accommodate multiple students and faculty for interactive and collaborative learning.
