Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support

The purpose of the American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) course is to educate health care personnel working with adults on the risks, strategies and skills necessary to handle an adult victim of cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies. Simulated clinical scenarios provide the opportunity for hands on participation in a team setting. A written examination is required for successful completion.

Course Prerequisites

  • Proficiency in BLS skills and high quality CPR.
  • Completion Certificate from the ACLS pre-course work found here.
  • ACLS Renewal course participants must provide their current (not expired) ACLS certification card to the instructor before the start of class.

Certification Course Card

At the conclusion of this class, participants will receive an AHA ACLS Providers course card, which is valid for two years.


Course Length

The ACLS Initial course is a two day course, for a total of 9.5 hours. Attendance at both days is required. The ACLS Renewal course is a one day course, for a maximum of 6.5 classroom hours.


Course Materials

All ACLS participants are required to have the ACLS Provider Manual ©2020 prior to the start of the course. Textbook is included in course fee.


Location

All class sessions are held at Clarkson College, located on 42nd and Douglas Streets in Omaha, Neb.


Cancellation Policy

Class fees are non-refundable within 48 hours of the course. Refunds are not provided if an individual cancels, does not attend or does not complete the entire class.
