Environmental Wellness
The ability to recognize our own responsibility for the quality of the air, the water and the land that surrounds us. The capacity to make a positive impact on the quality of our environment, be it our homes, our communities or our planet contributes to our Environmental Wellness.
Tips for optimal environmental wellness
- When possible, Reduce waste or waste products that cannot be recycled
- Adopt Reusable items over disposable items (coffee mug, plates vs single use items)
- Recycle products: from plastics and cans to paper bags and batteries
- Conserve water, electricity and other resources
- Minimize chemical use.
- Stop junk mail
- Bike or walk to school or work
- Carpool with classmates or coworkers
- Turn off electronics when not in use
- Get involved: trash pickup, highway cleanup among others.
