The Registered Nurse (RN) to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program option builds upon your skills as an RN, prepares you for the growing demands of the nursing field and ensures a long-term career. For those students interested in enrollment for the fall 2021 semester, fully complete both the application for admission to the Clarkson College RN to BSN program and Clarkson College RN to BSN Nursing Workforce Sponsorship Program application no later than June 15, 2021. Applicants will receive acknowledgment of receipt of their application. If an acknowledgment notice is not received within three weeks, applicants may call Clarkson College to verify that the application has been received.

Application Overview

Eligibility: Applicants to the RN to BSN Nursing Workforce Sponsorship Program must meet the following.

  • Currently hold an Associate in Nursing Degree
  • Have an active Registered Nurse license in the State of Nebraska
  • Successfully enroll and be accepted into the Clarkson College RN to BSN program option
  • One (1) year of health care experience is preferred, not required
  • Be eligible to work in the United States
  • Be eligible for hire through Nebraska Medicine (current Nebraska Medicine employees are not eligible*) 

Additional Materials: Please return the application form with a copy of the following.

  • Current resume
  • One-page statement outlining why you wish to be considered for this sponsorship program.

Sponsorship Recipients: Selection of recipients is made by the partnering hospital and comprised of individuals appointed by that institution. In no instance does any officer or employee of Clarkson College play a part in the selection.

All applicants agree to accept the decision as final. Recipients have the following obligations.   

  • Must complete an interview with Nebraska Medicine and adhere to all hiring practices
  • Sign a letter of commitment to work for Nebraska Medicine for four (4) years (two years as a full-time ASN/RN Staff Nurse while completing the program and two years as a full-time BSN/RN Staff Nurse upon graduation).
  • Maintain a status of “Good Standing” while enrolled in the RN to BSN program. 
  • Maintain a status of “Good Standing” while serving in your role as a Staff Nurse with Nebraska Medicine. 

*Clarkson College offers current Nebraska Medicine employees a partnership tuition rate to eligible employees of Nebraska Medicine and its partners. Employees of Nebraska Medicine may also apply for the Clarkson Option Payment Plan – Employer Reimbursement (COPPER) if they qualify for tuition reimbursement from Nebraska Medicine. This form allows students to defer their tuition and fee payment until two weeks after grades become available.
