AHIMA Entry-Level Competencies

The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) delineates specific curriculum guidelines for educational programs.  These guidelines are called the AHIMA entry-level competencies and provide a map of specific assignments that help students prepare to become high-quality, competent HIM professionals.

Review the following documents for the Entry-Level Competencies associated with Clarkson College’s HIM curriculum.  These documents outline the competencies, the Blooms taxonomic level, the courses in which the competencies are taught, the specific assignments that measure the competency, and the unit in which the assignment can be located.
