Clarkson College has not always been a college. Instead, we began in 1888 as a school of nursing—the first in the state of Nebraska. Over the last 125 years, we've established a new campus, expanded our program offerings and adopted a new name. All the while, we've maintained a commitment to preparing our students to be the best in various realms of health care. Distinguished Alumni Member Award

The Clarkson College Alumni Association honors notable alumni through their Distinguished Alumni Member Award. This award recognizes the extraordinary support of an individual who has had a significant impact on Clarkson College or the health care community in which he/she resides.

The Alumni Association invites Clarkson College alumni, faculty/staff and students to nominate an alumnus who demonstrates the qualities of a distinguished alumni member. Nominees must have a strong, dedicated commitment to the College, Alumni Association and/or health care community. They must also have made strong contributions in support of the institution’s Mission and Values of Caring, Commitment, Excellence, Integrity and Learning. Nominees should be extraordinary alumni members who also demonstrate leadership and work diligently toward the betterment of the College and/or their community.

Selection Criteria

Has contributed significantly to the betterment of the community in which they serve.
Has shown extraordinary loyalty, involvement and identification with the Clarkson College Mission and Values.
Has distinguished him/herself by a special service to the health care community and/or the College.
Manifests qualities of strong moral principles worthy of recognition.

Nominees are accepted through August 25th and up to three awards may be granted if acceptable nominations are received. Awards are announced during the September Alumni Weekend events.
